HV Direct Load Testing

This 8,250kW, 6.6kV debottlenecking compressor motor was originally manufactured by TDC Parsons Peebles back in 1999. After being held in long-term storage, the motor underwent successful full load testing and was subsequently shipped offshore for installation and commissioning.

The testing consisted of initial static electrical tests including auxiliaries, and a cooler pressure test and light run to check pedestal and shaft vibration. For the load test, the motor was mounted on an elevated foundation and coupled to our 10,000hp 2:1 and epicyclic gearboxes using a Bibby DJ313 flexible coupling. This ensures that the motor continues to operate at its design specification and according to customer requirements. As part of the testing, PD and MCSA testing was also carried out by EM Diagnostics Ltd with a full, detailed test report issued to the customer on completion as part of our QA checks prior to the motor being dispatched.
