Parsons Peebles Generation Ltd is going to benefit from the recently announced MoD decision to construct two new aircraft carriers. The carriers are being delivered by the Aircraft Carrier Alliance which is made up of MOD/BVT SurfaceFleet/Babcock /Thales UK & BAE Systems.
The company has received an order in excess of £1.8 million to provide a frequency changer set to Babcock Marine at Rosyth. The set will provide power to the aircraft carriers during their construction phase.
This is combined with orders of £2.2 million for two major energy companies in the USA.
William Paterson, managing director of the Patersons Quarries group said: “We have invested heavily in the company in terms of equipment and IT infrastructure which has seen the business return to a healthy position by offering bespoke products to the global market.”
Dr Peter Hughes, Chief Executive of Scottish Engineering said: “We would like to congratulate Parsons Peebles Generation on winning these significant orders. It is an excellent example of first class Scottish engineering companies winning work against stiff international competition.”
